Iran will continue negotiations with the US on its nuclear program as long as it considers them constructive and fruitful. This was stated by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic, Esmail Baghai.
„The duration of the negotiations depends on their progress. As for us, the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran has taken this path very seriously, and as long as we believe that the negotiations continue constructively and fruitfully, we will lead them,” he said on the air of the Iranian state television and radio company.
Tehran's main demand, as Baghai noted, remains the complete lifting of anti-Iran sanctions with guarantees that they will not be reintroduced.
The second round of indirect talks between delegations of Iran and the United States, led by the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic Abbas Araghchi and the US President's special envoy for the Middle East, Stephen Witkoff, is being held in Rome on Saturday. The mediator is Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad bin Hamud al-Busaidi.
