Yesterday's attack on the city of Odessa was the most powerful since the beginning of the special military operation (as Russia calls its aggression against Ukraine), Russian military expert Vasily Dandykin told news.ru.
He explained that the Russian army is seeking to disrupt military production and the logistics of the supply of Western aid, which, according to him, passes precisely through the port city.
Dandykin noted that these are planned actions by the Russian armed forces to disrupt the logistics of the supply of Western weapons to Ukraine and, in particular, “revenge for the drone attack on the airport in Engels“.
„The whole of Odessa was shaking. There has not been such a blow since the beginning of the SVO", said the expert.
The enemy massively attacked Odessa with drones late in the evening, three people were injured, including a minor girl, the chairman of the Odessa Regional Military Administration Oleg Kiper announced last night. Civilian infrastructure was damaged, including a high-rise apartment building, a shopping mall and shops.
Czech President Petr Pavel was visiting Odessa during the Russian drone attack on the Ukrainian city, the head of the Odessa regional military administration said.
Earlier, Ukraine attacked the Russian air base in Engels in the Saratov region with strike drones, which caused a fire and explosions in the area, the Ukrainian armed forces confirmed.
There is still no agreement between Kiev and Moscow on a ceasefire. However, the US State Department said that the two countries have never been closer to peace. New talks between the US and Russia are due to take place in Saudi Arabia in a few days.
