Europe cannot defend itself alone in the event of an attack by Russia. This was commented on bTV by security and defense expert Yordan Bozhilov, quoted by novini.bg
"Russia's ambitions go beyond Ukraine, Europe must be ready to defend itself. "Ukraine is the stopper that prevents the war from spreading," he said, adding that the fact that Europe is currently isolated from the negotiation processes is a "serious problem," since geographically the war is being fought on its territory.
When asked to what extent European countries can trust NATO at this time, Bozhilov answered as follows: "At this stage, Europe, without America, cannot defend itself, even though the European armies as a whole are numerous. What has been done by one of the individual armies so far is NATO. Bulgaria cannot build its defense on its own. We must think in a coalition format. We must be within the framework of the countries that will form the defense in order to know that our territory is covered by a common defense."
