Zelensky's party: We are not preparing for elections, there is no discussion of such at all - 1

The Ukrainian authorities are not preparing for elections and the reports of the Western media about a meeting on this topic in the office of Volodymyr Zelensky are not true, said David Arakhamia, head of the parliamentary group of the ruling party “Servant of the People“.

"Not only have I not participated in such a meeting, but I even claim that there was no such meeting at all. No elections are being prepared, no preparations are being made. On the contrary, we are constantly working to reassure our colleagues from other political parties and factions, because for two years now they have been constantly saying that elections are just around the corner," the Ukrainian publication "Obshchestvennoe" quoted him as saying.

Arakhamia recalled that earlier all parliamentary parties and groups had signed a document according to which elections should be held six months after the lifting of martial law, and at the moment there is no change.

On March 30, the British magazine The Economist, citing a source in the Ukrainian government, reported that presidential elections in Ukraine could be held in July. According to it, last week Zelensky instructed his cabinet to begin work on organizing the vote after a ceasefire is achieved.

On March 31, the RBC-Ukraine agency reported that the leading Ukrainian political forces had significantly intensified their activities amid rumors about a possible announcement of presidential or parliamentary elections. According to the publication, "Servant of the People" was already considering a future party list.
