Israeli Air Force fighter jets attacked a base of the Shiite group Hezbollah on the southern outskirts of the Lebanese capital.
The planes flew at low altitude over the city at night, after which a powerful explosion was heard.
The report notes that the strike "on a key terrorist stronghold was carried out on orders from the United States."
„The target of the strike was a Hezbollah terrorist who led Hamas fighters and helped them plan a large-scale terrorist attack against Israeli civilians. "Due to the imminent threat posed by the terrorist, the defense forces eliminated him," the statement said.
At least 34 people have been killed in various parts of the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours as a result of Israeli airstrikes, Qatari television channel Al Jazeera reported.
According to the media, the cities of Jabaliya, Deir el-Balah, Gaza, Khan Yunis and the surrounding villages were targeted.
The Gaza Strip's Health Ministry reported that the total number of people killed in the Israeli aggression against the region since October 2023 has risen to 50,357, with 114,400 people injured. Since March 18, 2025, when Israel resumed fighting in the enclave after the ceasefire agreement was broken, more than 1,000 people have been killed and 2,359 injured in the region.
