Russia's Defense Ministry accused Ukraine on Monday of attacking Russian energy infrastructure twice in the past 24 hours, despite a US-brokered memorandum against strikes on such facilities, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
According to Russian authorities, Ukrainian drones hit electrical substations in the Russian-controlled part of Zaporizhzhia region in southeastern Ukraine, as well as in Belgorod region in southern Russia. As a result of the attacks, thousands of local residents were left without electricity.
Ukraine, which has accused Russia of violating the moratorium, has not yet commented on Moscow's allegations. Reuters emphasizes that it cannot independently verify the information.
