ISW: Will Vladimir Putin agree to an unconditional full ceasefire by April 20? Unlikely! - 1

It is unlikely that the Russian Federation (RF) will agree to an unconditional full ceasefire within three weeks, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) wrote in its latest report.

"It is unlikely that Russia will agree to a "complete ceasefire without any conditions" within three weeks, given that Russia has asked the West to ease sanctions as a precondition for a temporary ceasefire in the Black Sea,“ the report states.

As ISW recalls, on March 30, Donald Trump said that there was an unspecified “psychological deadline“ by which Russia must agree to a “regime of silence“.

In March, the Russian Federation (RF) and Ukraine held separate negotiations with the American side. As a result of the meetings, Kiev and Moscow reached a partial truce, at least on the issue of energy strikes. As noted in Russia, the agreement comes into force on March 18. However, Russia and Ukraine have accused each other of attacking infrastructure, and Ukraine has been subjected to airstrikes on cities that have destroyed residential buildings and damaged energy facilities.

Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia must be forced to make peace.

According to Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga, Russia continues to violate the agreement. "On the morning of April 1, Russia attacked an energy facility in Kherson".
