The European Union is gripped by war hysteria and is trying to prolong the war in Ukraine, while at the same time losing its global economic and political influence. This was stated by Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Hungary, in an interview with the Serbian newspaper "Politika", reports Focus.
„War psychosis has been accumulating in recent months. After the election of President (Donald) Trump, the EU is seeking to prolong the conflict in Ukraine because it realizes that its strategy of the last three years has completely failed“, commented Szijjártó.
According to him, the EU's actions are causing serious damage to Europe, leading to high inflation, expensive energy and rising food prices. He believes that European leaders are unwilling to admit their failure because that would raise the question of their responsibility.
“The longer the war continues, the later the question of their responsibility will be raised“, adds the Hungarian minister.
Szijjártó emphasizes that the world is moving towards multipolarity, but Europe is lagging behind because “Brussels has completely messed up“.
“The EU used to be a leading factor in global politics, but that is no longer the case. The European Commission, with its excessively ideological approach, is isolating Europe from the key players on the world stage. In the past, the European economy combined Western technologies with accessible Eastern energy resources, but that is no longer the case,“ he points out.
According to him, Brussels has lost its orientation, and the EU is no longer a major factor in either world politics or the economy. Furthermore, in the attempts at peace talks on Ukraine, Europe does not even have a place at the negotiating table, Szijjártó concludes.
