An industrial site in the Russian republic of Mordovia on the Volga River was hit in a drone attack, the local governor said on Telegram, as quoted by Reuters.
According to Governor Artyom Zdunov, representatives of emergency services are working at the site. He did not name the site and there were no reports of casualties.
"Baza", a Telegram channel close to Russian law enforcement agencies, reported that the target was a fiber optic factory in the city of Saransk, 820 km from the Ukrainian border, BTA reports.
The publication was accompanied by a video recording showing an explosion against the night sky, allegedly from the strike.
The number of dead and injured in strikes on the Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih over the past 24 hours has risen to 19 and 69, respectively, Ukrinform reported, citing the head of the city's military administration, Oleksandr Vilkul.
Last night, Russian forces launched another strike on the city, killing one person and wounding three.
Previously, there was a missile attack on Kryvyi Rih yesterday, killing 18 people were killed and more than 60 were injured, including 12 children, Ukrainian authorities said.
The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed that the city had been attacked yesterday, adding that the target was a restaurant where Ukrainian servicemen and their foreign instructors had gathered. The ministry also said that 85 people were killed.
The Ukrainian military dismissed the claims as disinformation.
In its daily briefing, Kiev's forces said they had shot down 51 of the 92 drones launched by Russia overnight. Thirty-one were "lost", a term used by the Ukrainian military for unmanned aerial vehicles that were neutralized by electronic warfare.
Material damage was reported in Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Sumy and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
The defense chiefs of France and Britain discussed strengthening the capabilities of the Ukrainian army and "the possibilities for providing security guarantees" in the conclusion of a possible truce between Moscow and Kiev, reported Agence France-Presse, citing the Chief of Staff of the French Army, General Thierry Burkard, after his joint visit with his British counterpart, Admiral Tony Radakin, to Kiev.
"Together we want to ensure a lasting and stable peace for Ukraine, which is a necessary condition for the security of the European continent," Burkard said in Aix.
As part of their visit, the two senior Western military leaders met with their Ukrainian counterpart, Gen. Oleksandr Syrsky, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, and President Volodymyr Zelensky.
