A massive fire has broken out in northwestern Paris, BNR reported. 200 firefighters are battling the blaze.
The smoke from the fire in the northwestern part of Paris can be seen for miles, but the fire has been brought under control, as the mayor of the 17th arrondissement of the French capital told the media.
The fire broke out in a household waste sorting center, very close to the courthouse. According to Mayor Geoffroy Boulard, all staff have been evacuated, and there are no reports of injuries. Although 200 firefighters from the capital and its surroundings with about 60 fire engines participated in the extinguishing, the recently built building caught fire very quickly and burned completely due to the presence of paper and plastic waste.
Residents of the neighborhood have been advised to close their windows and avoid the area of the incident, and the nearby ring road has been closed in both directions to make way for rescue teams.
