The German luxury car manufacturer "Audi" (Audi) is temporarily stopping the export of cars to the US in light of the tariffs imposed by the administration of US President Donald Trump. This is reported by the specialized publication "Automobilvoche", referring to a message from the car company sent to distributors of its cars, DPA reported.
The publication of "Automobilvoche" indicates that the decision concerns cars manufactured by "Audi" that were intended for delivery to the US after April 2, when a 25 percent tariff on car imports came into effect.
There are currently over 37,000 cars manufactured by "Audi" in stock in the US. Their supply is not affected by the new import duties in the country, DPA reports.
The company "Audi" is a division of the German automobile group "Volkswagen" (Volkswagen Group).
