The US Supreme Court has overturned the ban on mass deportations of migrants - 1

The US Supreme Court has granted the US administration's request and overturned the ban on mass deportations of migrants, and the news appeared on the institution's website.

Five members of the court voted to lift the ban, and four voted against. Thus, the appeals court's decision, which confirmed the decision of the lower court, has been overturned. The Supreme Court also ordered the executive branch to give migrants a “reasonable time“ to challenge their removal from the country in court before they leave the United States.

In addition, the Supreme Court noted that the relevant trials should be held in Texas, where the migrants are being held, and not in Washington.

“The Supreme Court has upheld the rule of law in our country, allowing the President, whoever he may be, to secure our borders, protect our families and our country. What a great day for justice in America!“ - wrote US leader Donald Trump on Truth Social.

Earlier, a judge in the District of Columbia ordered a temporary halt to mass deportations of migrants from the United States under the Foreign Enemies Act of 1798 until the legal justification for its implementation is determined.

Since taking office on January 20, Trump has repeatedly called for stricter immigration policies. He said he intended to conduct the largest deportation operation of illegal immigrants in American history. Trump signed a proclamation invoking the Foreign Enemies Act of 1798, ordering the immediate arrest, imprisonment, and deportation from the United States of members of the Venezuelan-based transnational crime group Tren de Aragua.
