The agreement on Ukrainian minerals proposed by the US is still under discussion, with negotiations to continue tomorrow in Washington, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Olga Stefanyshyna announced today at a press conference in Brussels, BTA reports.
She specified that the text of the agreement must be changed so as not to violate Kiev's previously made commitments. According to Stefanyshyna, this condition is not subject to negotiation. She also added that the talks with the US are currently at a technical level.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal indicated during a press conference last night that Ukraine is striving for a mutually beneficial agreement with equal conditions for both sides. He stressed that the content of this agreement is limited by the Ukrainian constitution and Kiev's obligations to the EU.
The agreement was initially planned to be signed during Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's visit to the White House.
