The Russian Defense Ministry said today that Ukraine had carried out 11 attacks on Russian energy infrastructure in the past day, more than the previous day and in violation of a US-brokered moratorium on such strikes, Reuters and TASS reported.
“In the Luhansk People's Republic on April 9 at 03:22 as a result of an attack by a Ukrainian drone, a high-voltage power line was cut“, the Russian ministry said in a statement.
According to the ministry, a drone dropped ammunition on an energy facility in the Donetsk region, and drone attacks damaged power lines in Zaporizhia and Kursk regions, as well as in the Krasnodar region. A substation in the Kherson region, two energy facilities in the Bryansk region, and a gas pipeline and electrical substation in the Belgorod region were also damaged.
Ukraine and Russia agreed to stop strikes on energy facilities last month, but both sides have repeatedly accused each other of violating the agreement, Reuters notes.
