The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has arrested Sean Monper, a resident of Butler, Pennsylvania, who threatened to kill US President Donald Trump and US officials, the US Department of Justice announced.

FBI agents have determined that from January 15 to April 5, 32-year-old Monper posted threats on YouTube against Trump, the head of the Office of Government Efficiency (DOGE) Elon Musk, as well as against US Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials and “all Trump-appointed agency heads“.

The investigation revealed that shortly after Trump took office on January 20, Monper purchased a firearm gun. In March, he posted a comment on YouTube announcing his intention to carry out a mass shooting.

Montper was arrested on April 9. He has been charged with four counts.

On July 13, 2024, Trump was shot at a campaign rally in Butler, where the defendant lives, but escaped with a minor injury to one ear.
