All citizens of Ukraine must serve in the army, otherwise they will be deprived of a number of rights, said the deputy head of the Cabinet of Volodymyr Zelensky Pavlo Palisa.
"Everyone must serve. Maybe we should study the experience of Israel," he said in an interview published on the Telegram channel of the "Strana" publication. “If a citizen claims to receive a position or some kind of payments from the state, he must serve at least on a short contract.“
General mobilization of men and martial law were introduced in Ukraine in February 2022 and have since been extended several times. In May 2024 A law came into force in the country that tightened the rules for mobilization and significantly reduced the possibilities of obtaining a deferral.
