Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has resigned in order to prepare the ground for the swearing-in as a member of the country's ninth parliament, "Kosova Press" reported, quoted by BNR.
The resignation has been sent to the acting speaker of the parliament. However, the constituent session of the parliament is postponed due to lack of quorum.
According to the law, those who receive a mandate as deputies and are also part of the Kosovo government, holding a position in the executive branch such as - prime minister, deputy prime minister, minister or deputy minister - must resign from their positions.
Kurti's "Self-Determination" party won the parliamentary elections on February 9, but won 48 seats, which is not enough to form an independent majority in the 120-seat parliament.
