The prices of most products in the US and inflation are falling, as the country's authorities collect "record" customs revenue. This was announced by US President Donald Trump late last night, quoted by Reuters.
"The US is receiving RECORD AMOUNTS from tariffs, with prices of almost all products falling, including gasoline and groceries. Similarly, INFLATION is falling," Trump wrote on his social network "Truth Social" (Truth Social).
Financial analysts point out that it is not clear whether Trump is referring to customs revenue that the US receives at the federal level or another indicator. However, they note that higher tariffs on imports into the US are likely to lead to higher prices for imported products in the US market.
