Russia has been ignoring the US proposal to cease air, sea and land strikes for 36 days now, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said today in his traditional evening address to the nation, Ukrinform reported, quoted by BTA.
"Thirty-six days ago, the United States proposed a complete and unconditional cessation of air, sea and land strikes. Ukraine accepted this proposal immediately - more than a month ago. Russia continues to ignore it and has not yet suffered any consequences, and this is a major problem," he said.
According to him, Zelensky today discussed with diplomats possible meetings in the coming weeks in Ukraine and Europe, cooperation with the United States and relations with other countries "that are strong enough to really influence diplomacy."
The Ukrainian head of state pointed out that it must be equally clear in all parts of the world that the only reason for this war is Russia.
In a telephone conversation today with Finnish President Alexander Stubb, Zelensky discussed the situation in Ukraine, the country's need for air defense systems, the imposition of stricter sanctions on Russia and joint retaliatory actions against possible Russian provocations.
