Neither the White House nor the US Congress are discussing the possibility of providing new military aid to Ukraine after the resources approved by the administration of former US leader Joe Biden have been exhausted.
This was reported on Friday by the New York Times, citing its own sources.
As the journal notes, under current President Donald Trump, the US has reconsidered its position on Ukraine for its own benefit and now proceeds from what it can get from Kiev, rather than from what it can give it itself.
Unnamed European officials told the newspaper that the West has not received assurances from Washington that the US will continue large-scale intelligence sharing with Ukraine in future.
Trump previously declined to say whether he would cut off military aid to Ukraine if peace talks fail. At the same time, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the United States, after three years of supporting Ukraine and spending billions of dollars, had reached a point where it needed to focus on other tasks.
