The authorities in the Russian Vladimir region, east of Moscow, have declared a state of emergency due to an explosion, TASS reported, citing security services, BTA reports.
The governor of the Vladimir region, Alexander Avdeev, said earlier today that the explosion occurred in the Kirzhach district and rescue teams are working at the scene.
Avdeev did not specify at what site the explosion occurred or whether there was any damage.
"Telegram" channels close to Russian security services write that the explosion was near an arms depot near the village of Barsovo.
Residents of the villages of Barsovo and Mirny have been evacuated, TASS added.
