The Israeli army "most likely" intercepted a rocket fired from Yemen early this morning, "Reuters" reported, citing a statement from military authorities, BTA reports.
Airstrike signals were heard in several areas of Israel. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
The Iran-backed Houthi movement, which controls the most densely populated areas of Yemen, regularly fires missiles and drones at Israel as a show of solidarity with the Palestinians in the context of the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.
Earlier this week, US airstrikes on the Yemeni capital killed more than 10 people and wounded about 30 others, the Houthi rebels said on April 21.
Other casualties were also reported in various parts of the country, including the governorates of Amran, Hodeidah, Marib and Saada, where significant damage was caused.
US strikes on the Ras Issa fuel port in Yemen last week killed at least 74 people and wounded 171 others, local sources reported.
