Giorgia Meloni: Everyone needs a longer ceasefire in Ukraine - 1

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni sharply criticized the three-day ceasefire in Ukraine proposed by Vladimir Putin, calling it “categorically insufficient”. She said it was time for Russia to demonstrate that it wants an end to the conflict, writes Politico.

"We support Trump's efforts and are pleased that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said he is open to an unconditional ceasefire, showing that Ukraine also wants peace", Meloni said in an interview with the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera.

"The three-day ceasefire announced by Putin for the anniversary of the victory in World War II is something different and categorically insufficient", she added.

We recall that on Monday Putin announced a three-day ceasefire, from May 8 to 11. The proposed ceasefire will also coincide with the celebrations of Victory Day in Russia.
