Extremely weak demand for Nissan - 1

In July this year, the car manufacturer Nissan reduced the production of cars at its flagship plant in Japan , by a third due to weak demand, mainly in the American market. This was reported by Reuters, citing informed sources.

The company reported a serious drop in profit in the April-June period and lowered its annual forecast. It is noted that unlike rivals Toyota and Honda, Nissan has no hybrid models in the North American market.

The company's management did not take into account the changes in the market towards similar models against the background of the declining growth of sales of electric vehicles, which led to a sharp decline in the demand for cars of this brand.

Now forecasts are that car production at the Nissan plant in Kyushu in southwestern Japan will not exceed 25 thousand units. Another reason is that Nissan has a large inventory of 2023 Rogue/X trail models in the US, but sales have become difficult since the 2024 model's launch.
