The Volkswagen Tayron crossover of the second generation replaces the elongated Tiguan Allspace and turns from a purely Chinese model into a global one. The European version gets a saloon with five or seven seats, plus a wide range of standard equipment that includes nine airbags, three-zone climate control, ambient interior lighting with 10 colors, a digital instrument panel, LED headlights, illuminated front and rear logos and rear sunshades doors.
The list of options is no less extensive. It has DCC Pro adaptive two-valve shock absorbers, panoramic roof, IDA voice assistant with ChatGPT support, Travel Assist semi-autopilot, Harman-Kardon audio system and much more. Initially, the Tayron will be offered with a choice of four power outputs, with other powertrains to follow. Both the gasoline engines and the “senior“ diesel engine can be combined with 4Motion all-wheel drive, while the others come only with front-wheel drive. The gearbox on all Tayrons is a seven-speed DSG robot. Orders for the new product are now being accepted. The basic Tayron Life with eTSI 1.5 engine in Germany is priced at 45,475 euros.
