This benchmark obtained from Freevoy Super Hybrid Battery, exceeds the value of some electric cars. According to CATL (Contemporary Amprex Technology Limited), the battery is designed specifically for PHEV hybrids.
It is noted that the new battery will go into production next year and will give hybrid owners an experience "similar to that of electric cars". The first models to use it will be from the brands Li Auto, Changan Avatr and Nevo.
The new development is known to use a sodium-lithium chemical compound to balance the energy density. However, this stated figure is believed to be calculated based on the most favorable test cycle for passenger cars in China.
One of the key achievements of the Freevoy battery is its ability to charge quickly. The battery can get power for 350 km in just 10 minutes of charging. In addition, the Freevoy battery is designed to operate in temperatures as low as -40°C and supports charging at -30°C
„Many hybrid drivers want to use more electricity and less fuel, but today's PHEV models often prioritize the internal combustion engine,” says a CATL representative.
