In the World Car Group's annual ranking of car brands that produce the most cars, which is conducted by the independent website focus2move, Toyota leads again this year. The Japanese once again managed to overtake the German Volkswagen in the battle for world leadership. The rating was prepared on the basis of data on registered new cars in 159 countries around the world.
Toyota is number one again.
Looking at cumulative sales as of October 2024, the leading position goes to the Toyota Group with 8.56 million vehicles (-2.1%), maintaining a large margin over all other competitors.
Second place in the rating is occupied by the German concern Volkswagen Group
with a result of 6.85 million (-1.6%). Despite sales growth in America (+8.9%) and Europe (+2.7%), significant losses in Asia (-9.4%) neutralized the manufacturer's achievements.
In third place are the Koreans from Hyundai-Kia
with an indicator of 5.65 million sales (-3.1%). Despite the large number of interesting novelties, the Korean manufacturer lags behind its sales from last year due to a serious decline in buyer interest in Africa (-18%) and Asia (-5.7%).
The Renault Nissan Alliance
manages to climb 1 position to fourth place and reports 5 million sales and a 1% increase. The basis of the success is related to the good performance in Europe (+4.6%) and Oceania (+7.7%).
American General Motors
also climbs 1 position to take fifth place with 4.76 million sales (-4.9%). Despite the loss of sales volumes in Asia (-12.7%) and America (-0.5%), strong growth in Europe (+36.6%) made this climb possible.
The sixth place is held by the multi-brand concern Stellantis.
It lost 2 positions at once, and the sales results amounted to 4.74 million (-8.1%). Problems haunt the manufacturer both in America (-9.6%) and in Europe (-9.3%).
Honda Motors
have a successful year. The Japanese brand ranked seventh with 3.18 million sales (-2.9%), despite losing 11.8% of its sales in Asia.
Times are not the best for the Ford concern,
which occupies only eighth place in the ranking with a result of 3.09 million cars sold (-0.4%). The concern managed to increase sales in America by 4.8%, but buyers in Asia and Europe are not in favor of the "blue oval" - the drop in sales was 3.6 and 14.4 percent, respectively.
China's BYD
moved up one position to ninth in the rankings with 2.95 million cars sold. With a growth of 35.6% compared to the previous year, the company showed one of the best indicators among car manufacturers. The company achieved tremendous growth in America (+422%) and Europe (+232%).
The TOP-10 is closed by the company Suzuki,
which drops by one position. The Japanese manufacturer managed to sell 2.64 million (+3.9%) cars. The decline in purchasing demand in America (-9.6%) was offset by good sales growth in Europe (+14.5%).
