BMW sells new "triples" with 55% discount!!! But do not rush to rejoice. The Autohome portal found an advertising publication of a dealer positioned in China. Specifically in Zhejiang Province, which makes these incredible discounts. In addition, it is not about the version of the third series with LPG, but about the electric and alternative i3. So there, in the province of Zhejiang (we don't know how it is spelled in Bulgarian), the basic i3 electric sedan costs only 159 thousand yuan (20,700 euros) - more than twice the recommended retail price! No scam: BMW is really selling these cars at a 55% discount.
This unprecedented generosity is thanks to the Zhejiang government's own subsidies for electric cars, the dealer's desire to get rid of cars from the 2024 model year (the updated 2025 version came out in September) and general trends in the Chinese market. BMW i3 electric cars are available only with rear-wheel drive, and prices are higher than those of local competitors. So if the dealer wants to sell, he has to make such discounts.
Although the 55% discount promotion ended quickly, the new BMW i3s are still being sold at a huge discount: the 2025 model year sedans are priced between 255,000 and 298,000 yuan (33,000 and 38,800 euros). The competitive Chinese market forced BMW to prematurely stop production of the iX3 crossovers. At the Brilliance-BMW plant, the assembly line will stop for about a year while the Bavarian brand completes preparations for assembling new-generation models on the Neue Klasse platform.
