After years of anticipation, Aston Martin has finally unveiled the production version of its Valhalla supercar. This mid-engined vehicle aims to shake up the high-speed landscape, taking direct aim at rivals such as the Lamborghini Revuelto and Ferrari SF90 Stradale.
At the heart of the Valhalla beats a bespoke twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 boasting the highest output of any Aston Martin to date. This engine generates 817 horsepower, but that's just the beginning. Three electric motors join the party, bringing the system's total output to a staggering 1,079 horsepower and 1,100 Nm of torque. With this power unit, the Valhalla is launched from 0-100 kilometers per hour in just 2.5 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 350 kilometers per hour.
Adding electric motors unlocks exciting possibilities. The Valhalla uses torque vectoring on the front axle for better agility, while an electronic limited-slip differential ensures optimal power transfer to the rear. In addition, electric motors eliminate turbo lagging and capture regenerative energy when braking. To add to the silent performance, the Valhalla can even travel up to 14 kilometers in pure electric mode, reaching a top speed of 140 kilometers per hour.
Like its Valkyrie sibling, the Valhalla prioritizes aerodynamic efficiency. At a speed of 240 km/h, it generates a staggering 600 kg of downforce, which keeps the car firmly planted on the asphalt. As speed increases, the active aero system automatically adjusts to manage downforce levels and optimize performance. Although lap times remain undisclosed, the Valhalla promises to be a real weapon on the track.
The Integrated Vehicle Dynamics Control (IVC) system acts as the brains of the Valhalla, coordinating key elements such as suspension, braking, steering and aerodynamics. This ensures seamless communication between the front and rear axles, even though they have no physical connection.
Taking inspiration from Formula 1, Aston Martin engineers have created a lightweight monocoque carbon fiber chassis for the Valhalla. This foundation is complemented by aluminum subframes and an advanced suspension setup that includes a pushrod design with integrated springs and dampers up front. Carbon-ceramic brakes provide tremendous stopping power at all four corners.
Borrowing elements from the Valkyrie, the cabin features raised steps for an ideal driving position and standard carbon fiber bucket seats. A flat-top and flat-bottom steering wheel dominates the interior, along with a large digital instrument panel and high-resolution infotainment screen. As with other Aston Martin models, the Q by Aston Martin division offers extensive personalization options to tailor the Valhalla to each owner's wishes.
With production limited to just 999 units worldwide, the Valhalla is a true collector's item and testament to Aston Martin's commitment to pushing the boundaries of automotive engineering and design.
