Lucid Motors has officially announced that its new electric crossover Gravity has received EPA certification, and its characteristics exceed expectations. Instead of the previously announced 700 km, the Grand Touring model can travel up to 724 km on a single charge. This makes the Lucid Gravity the electric SUV with the longest range.
Gravity is equipped with a 118 kWh battery, similar to the one used in the Lucid Air sedan. For comparison, the Rivian R1S (Gen 2) with a 140 kWh battery has a range of 660 km. Lucid Motors emphasizes that it achieved such results thanks to the high efficiency of its electric powertrains and the lower use of rare earth materials compared to competitors.
This result confirms Lucid's leadership in the premium electric SUV segment. Despite its impressive range, however, the Gravity remains one of the most expensive cars in its class. Prices for the Rivian R1S Max Pack start at $89,900, while the Lucid Gravity in Touring trim, which will go on sale in 2025, will start at $79,900.
Production of the Lucid Gravity has already begun at the company's Arizona plant. The first instance with VIN001 rolled off the assembly line last week. Deliveries in the US are expected to begin in late 2025, and in Europe - in the summer of 2026.
Although sales of the Lucid Air have not yet met expectations, the company hopes that the Gravity will become a more successful model thanks to the growing demand for electric SUVs.
