Former SsangYong starts producing pickups under new brand - 1

KGM Mobility, which is now called the former SsangYong brand, announced the emergence of a new brand - Musso. Under this brand, KGM Mobility intends to produce electric pickups with a monocoque body.

Judging by the teaser, the first-born will be a serial version of the KGM O100 concept car from two years ago. Technically, the Torres crossover will be close to the new product.

If this turns out to be true, then the Musso range may include pickups with a body on a frame and a clearly emphasized off-road emphasis. The KGM O100 show car debuted in March 2023, and then the Koreans did not hide the fact that the platform was borrowed from the Torres EVX.

The Musso brand is taken from the family of SUVs and body-on-frame pickups from the second half of the 90s, and since muso means “rhino“ in Korean, this is the animal used in advertising.

The presentation of the first Musso model will take place before the end of March, and South Korea will be a priority market. Probably, at the start of sales, the pickup will have one electric motor with a capacity of 207 horsepower.

In the future, KGM also plans to return to the body-on-frame truck segment: at least the sketches depict a more muscular pickup with exhaust pipes, raised suspension and a camper at the rear.
