Kia has officially confirmed that production of the new EV2 electric car will begin in January 2026, or exactly one year from now. The model will be produced at the brand's plant in the Slovak city of Žilina.
This model will become a very important part of the brand's strategy to expand its range of electric cars and make environmentally friendly transport more accessible to a wide range of consumers.
The Kia EV2 will be a compact electric vehicle designed for those who are considering switching to electric transport, but need a practical and affordable option.
It will combine modern design, advanced technology and balanced performance. The range is expected to be up to 480 km on a single charge, and thanks to the fast charging system, the battery will be able to be restored from 10 to 80% in 30 minutes.
The first images of test samples of the cheapest electric Kia give an idea of its design. The car has an aerodynamic body, advanced LED headlights and a minimalist interior.
Inside, a large touch display and convenient controls will be available. The model will also receive the latest security and multimedia systems, which will make it quite competitive in the market.
Production at a European plant will not only help Kia compete more effectively, but will also have a positive impact on the Slovak economy, creating new jobs and strengthening the country's industrial sector.
The EV2 is expected to become a serious player in the compact electric vehicle segment, which already includes models such as Renaul. More about the model, see the video.
