The analysis of these curious results was made in the fourth quarter of last year by specialists from the marketing agency NAPI. The analysts compared the residual value of popular Japanese and Korean crossovers in our country.
These are the Kia Sorento, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Subaru Forester, Mitsubishi Outlander, as well as the Toyota RAV4, Mazda CX-5, Kia Sportage and Hyundai Tucson. It is noticeable that one of the bestsellers, the Honda CR-V, is missing from them, but NAPI does not specify why they left it out. But anyway, let's look at the results of other Asian crossovers.
According to experts, after selling a five-year-old Toyota RAV4, the owner will have to pay an additional 32 percent of its price to buy a new similar crossover. After ten years of operation, the premium will be 54.7 percent. This means that after five years the RAV4 retains 68 percent of its value, and after ten years - 45 percent.
The Kia Sorento and Sportage retain 51 and 64 percent, respectively, of their original price after five years. For the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and Outlander, the percentages are 59 and 47, respectively. The list of the most liquid models for resale also includes the Subaru Forester with 55 percent, as well as the Mazda CX-5 with 63 percent and the Hyundai Tucson, which has a residual value of 61 percent.
