The best-selling SUV on the private market in Europe since 2018 is ... Dacia Duster. With its third generation, which launches in 2024, the affordable SUV is now even more attractive. However, its vision clearly still leaves much to be desired, and proof is the recent reworking by Carpoint GmbH.
The innovation is called Redust (the name is based on Duster) and is an impressive tuning by the Dacia Carpoint GmbH specialists, who set themselves the task of making the current Duster even more dynamic and individual.
The first project car is the “Sport“, which emphasizes the powerful design language of the Duster 3 with specially designed and intricately constructed accessories. The aerodynamic add-ons immediately catch the eye, all of which are designed to adopt the SUV's factory design language and, in particular, to emphasize it. They will be available from the end of the month.
The fender flares provide an increase of around 20 millimeters on each side and give the Duster a much more muscular look. The new width of the Redust side sills, which have three-dimensional contours, passes through the "waist" of Duster.
Thus, the Duster's face looks even more aggressive with the distinctive, precisely fitted new front hood (599 euros), which with its grille openings creates the impression that it acts as an air manifold for the turbo engine below.
But otherwise the car has no more power available. The rear analogue of the sports hood is a rear spoiler with a generously sized new tailgate, which harmoniously fits into the OEM roof covering.
In the middle under the rear apron, the dual exhaust system, made of high-quality stainless steel, is also in tune with the Duster design, but also aims to give the tuned Dacia not only a more powerful look but also a better sound.
Redust also decorates the rear side windows with precisely fitting stickers that provide a special look with its exclusive Y-model. As part of the "Sport" transformation, the company has removed the factory roof rails and installed special rails, giving the Duster an even "squatter" look.
Speaking of adhesion to the asphalt, a new coilover suspension (1,399 euros) has also been developed and tuned specifically for the Redust Sport, which variably reduces the SUV's ground clearance and, according to the manufacturers, makes its driving behavior significantly more dynamic.
The new alloy wheels also contribute to the visual dynamics: The tuned Duster is equipped with 20-inch multi-spoke wheels (379 euros) with sports tires in size 245/40R20, which are available in glossy black or silver. All Redust Sport body components are available either in glossy black, as shown, or alternatively in a matte, rough finish.
Last but not least, stylish improvements are also offered for the Duster's entrance area and footwell in the form of striking door sills, a matching footrest and soft suede floor mats with the Redust logo.
By the way: In parallel with the Duster Sport, Redust has already launched a second interpretation of the Duster, which is completely different in character. As you can see from the pictures, the off-road theme plays a big role here. And its name is Offroad. A roof rack will also be available from the end of March 2025. Prices for it start at 400 euros without installation.
