On March 10, a new motorsport project in Bulgaria was launched - the "Lara" track near Samokov. The facility, which is expected to be completed by the end of the year, is a private investment supported by “GBS Energy Solutions“, part of the Management Board of the Bulgarian Motorcycling Federation, local authorities inform.
The track, whose name is “Lara“, will be about 4 km long and 12 m wide, reaching 15 m on some turns. The track will have security zones, pits, a race control hall, training and briefing rooms, a restaurant and spectator sectors.
“We expect all of this to be built within this year. We have developed a business plan that gives us a clear idea of what the return will be,” Zara Kiziryan, CEO of “GBS Energy Solutions“, told BTA.
The construction of the “Lara“ track is an important step for the development of motor sports in Bulgaria. Currently, there is only one licensed track in our country, which is located near Kaloyanovo, and it is also currently undergoing renovation.
