The total volume of investment commitments by private and foreign companies to invest capital in the US economy since the beginning of Donald Trump's presidential term has reached $1.9 trillion, the Financial Times newspaper reports.

According to the publication, the largest announced investments include $500 billion from Apple, $100 billion from telecommunications holding SoftBank, a similar amount from semiconductor manufacturer TSMC, $20 billion from shipping group CMA CGM and $5 billion from USD from the automaker Stellantis.

At the same time, a significant part of these investments is at risk against the backdrop of the escalation of the tariff conflict between the United States and a number of key trading partners, including China, India, the European Union and South Korea, the publication notes, citing Dartmouth College professor Teresa Fort.

Some analysts, on the contrary, believe that the protectionist policy of the United States may accelerate the transfer of production to the country. According to the research institute Capgemini, American corporations plan to spend about 1.1 trillion USD to return their production facilities to the country within three years, which exceeds the figure of 750 billion USD for 2024.
