Kazakhstan's foreign trade turnover for January-February 2025 amounted to 19,016.6 million USD. Compared to January-February 2024, it decreased by 7.8% in nominal terms, BNS reported.
In the first two months of the current year, Kazakhstan's trade turnover with the EAEU countries amounted to 3,731.4 million USD, which in nominal terms is 8.5% less than the same period last year.
For January-February 2025, exports of goods amounted to 1,220.1 million USD (a decrease of 19.7%), imports - 2,511.3 million USD (decrease by 1.9%).
In the total volume of Kazakhstan's foreign trade turnover with the EAEU countries, the largest share is occupied by Russia - 90.4%, Kyrgyzstan - 6.2%, Belarus - 3.3% and Armenia - 0.1%.
The main partner countries of the Republic of Kazakhstan in exports are:
- Italy (26.7%),
- China (15%),
- Russia (9.5%),
- The Netherlands (5.2%),
- Turkey (5.1%),
- Uzbekistan (4.7%).
Kazakhstan exports mainly crude oil and petroleum products, refined copper and copper alloys, copper ores and concentrates, ferroalloys and wheat. The country imports passenger cars, car bodies, medicines, telephones and petroleum gases.
The main partner countries of the Republic of Kazakhstan in imports are:
- China (28.8%),
- Russia (28.5%),
- Republic of Korea (4.7%),
- Germany (4.1%),
- USA (2.9%),
- Turkey (2.7%).
In terms of Kazakhstan's imports, the largest share is occupied by the following goods: passenger cars (3.6%), motor vehicle bodies (3%), medicines (3%), telephones (2.5%), petroleum gases and other gaseous hydrocarbons (2.3%).
About 300,000 tons of Kazakh wheat are exported for North Africa and Morocco.
