A delegation of Bulgarian bishops is visiting the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Istanbul. During the visit, meetings are scheduled with the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and Metropolitan Epiphanius of Kyiv and of all Ukraine, reports the publication "Orthodox Times".
Bulgarian and Ukrainian clergy are expected to celebrate a divine liturgy together in the patriarchal church today. This event is particularly significant, as the Bulgarian Patriarchate has not yet officially recognized the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Ukraine, the publication notes, without specifying the composition of the delegation from Sofia, BNR writes.
The co-service marks an extremely important event, especially considering that the Holy Synod of the BOC must elect a new patriarch on June 30, commented "Orthodox Times".
