Stanislav Stoyanov: "The Green Deal" is a harmful project that brings a lot of economic damage - 1

Bulgaria's current membership in the EU is not beneficial for our economy. To change this, we need a new “Maastricht” 2. What future will Europe have after the vote on June 9… Stanislav Stoyanov, MEP candidate of "Vazrazhdane" spoke to FAKTI.

- Mr. Stoyanov, you are a candidate for deputy in the European Parliament from "Vazrazhdane". What will you want for changes from what has been so far?
- We want the EU to start solving the problems facing Europe and European citizens. Currently, this is not the case. Moreover, the EU itself generates problems through its wrong policies. I will mention heavy bureaucracy, illegal migration, economic crisis, ill-conceived Eurozone project, clumsy “Green Deal”, harmful trade agreements, imposition of artificial and harmful values… And this list is not complete. Last but not least, the EU is unable or unwilling to find a peaceful solution to our continent's biggest conflict since World War II. We are told that we must wage war to the last survivor and that there is no other option! Europe had authority on the world stage and was a serious factor for peace in the world, and at the moment its role is reduced to maintaining a war.

On a national level, we will work to ensure that Bulgaria's problems find hearing and solutions in the next European Parliament.

We want good European practices to be brought to our country and the Bulgarian citizen to feel represented. The EU needs fundamental restructuring. Its transformation into a hyper-centralized and bureaucratized superstructure must be stopped. It should be a union of sovereign states based on mutual respect and recognition of national interests. We oppose the open war that the EU is waging against its own member states under the new name “rule of law” and the so-called “conditional binding mechanism”. This is another tool to pressure and punish the countries that are fighting to preserve their national sovereignty.

- You talk about defending Bulgarian national interests everywhere and always. How does this happen… Bulgarian MEPs are only 17…
- There are only 17 Bulgarian MEPs, but they are not the only toolkit. We have partners from other countries, among whom we must also look for support, because often the problems are similar, but so are the solutions. The Bulgarian interest must be heard and defended at all levels in the EU and the best for Bulgaria must be sought. The politics of uncomplaining agreement with everything and everyone must remain in the past.

- From "Revival" you insist on renegotiation of Bulgaria's membership in the EU. What can be improved?
- Everything can be renegotiated, every contract should be renegotiated, but the most important thing is that it is profitable for us. The EU should want its members to be prosperous states, not to decline, right? The previous negotiators agreed to everything, but this is clearly not working. Then we closed 4 NPP reactors, now they are forcing us to close the thermal power plants as well. For more than 17 years, Bulgaria has been in last place in terms of economic development, with the most severe demographic crisis in Europe, and this threatens our country. It can't be like that anymore.

- He believes that the current membership of Bulgaria in the EU is not profitable because…
- The lost benefits and damages as a result of membership are huge, definitely outweighing the benefits. I will recall the prematurely closed four reactors of the Kozloduy NPP, there is currently pressure to close our thermal power plants as well.

Bulgaria has been a donor of human resources for over 17 years,

and this is the most valuable capital of any country, and this trend continues to this day. The agreed upon parameters regarding subsidies and quotas upon our acceptance are such that Bulgarian agriculture suffered a collapse, if we exclude grain production. The collision of the Bulgarian industry with the Western European one on the common market practically destroyed it, and it had to be supported in order to catch up.

- You announced from the party that you will not join any of the known European families, but want to create a new group in the European Parliament. Tell more…
- “Revival“ strives to position itself where it can best protect the Bulgarian national interest. We are considering an option for the creation of a group that will put the interest of European countries and Europe first, that will seek solutions to the problems we are facing. Even if that includes “forbidden“ for the other parties, things like seeking a diplomatic solution and negotiations with Russia to find a peaceful solution to the conflict in Ukraine. Whether our efforts will bear fruit, we will find out after the elections.

- You talk about “Reviving Europe” as a motto. How will this happen?

- Europe should start defending its interest an hour sooner. Europe is becoming less and less European and more and more like something that is a threat to itself.

The EU in its form is weak, it is not a factor on the world stage, it conducts an anti-European policy.

We solve the demographic crisis by importing illegal immigrants from other continents, we impose false anti-Christian values, on the world stage Europe does not have its own policy, but serves someone else's. This must end soon, because this political impotence threatens European civilization. That is why Europe needs revival.

- You say that from "Revival" you have the self-confidence of a defender of democratic values - not only in Bulgaria, but also in the EU. But you also have an affinity for Russia. How are the two things positioned…
- We have an affinity only for the Bulgarian national interest, and it dictates that we have good relations with Russia. It is not our enemy, regardless of the frantic attempts of the ruling Euro-Atlantic clique in our country to convince us otherwise and to sever relations with this brotherly country. It is better for both Bulgaria and the EU to have an ally and partner, not an enemy at the gates. And speaking of democracy, a coup was carried out in Bulgaria with the trampling of 604,000 votes of Bulgarians in connection with the trampled referendum. Have you noticed that any European country or EU institution has raised its voice in defense of the violated rights of European citizens? No, right? Us too.

- You have always been in favor of preserving the Bulgarian lev. What will be new after June 9?
- We will have a wider toolkit that we will be able to use, having representatives in the EP as well. To begin with, we are considering a petition to the EP regarding the unreasonably trampled right to a referendum of the Bulgarian people. Let's find out how the democratic European institutions view the fact that the most democratic instrument in practice was trampled.

- “The Green Deal“ and Bulgaria. Where is "Revival" in this thread?
- “The Green Deal” is a harmful project that brings a lot of economic damage and practically no benefits for Bulgaria. It means closing our thermal power plants and becoming energy dependent, and the destruction of the Bulgarian energy sector also means the destruction of the Bulgarian economy. The damage to agriculture as a result of the deal is also very serious. Strict environmental production requirements are imposed on Bulgarian farmers, while the EU signs trade agreements with other countries.

And we see how the fertile Bulgarian land is covered with solar panels.

Before imposing fictitious green policies that undermine European economies, it would be better for the EU to reach an agreement in this direction with its economic partners on the world stage to make global sense.

- And let's finish with migration. How will we protect our border after the elections. What do you expect to change?
- If “Revival“ doesn't rule, nothing will change. We have said before – our external border would be best guarded when the Bulgarian army takes up this task, as it is in neighboring Turkey. Our calculations show that with 1,600 soldiers we will be able to guard the border in such a way that even a chicken will not be able to cross it.
