PP-DB call on the parties: Let's make a sanitary cordon around Peevski! - 1

"We are witnessing a large-scale misuse of people's votes," PP-DB said at a media briefing . The co-chairman of the coalition Kiril Petkov stated that the party of Delyan Peevski - New Beginning, would not have achieved these results in the elections if we had working institutions.

"We have witnessed that "A New Beginning" there were people who in North-West Bulgaria and the whole country visited the mayors and achieved these results through a bought and corporate vote. There is no way a leader like Mr. Peevski with such a low rating can have these results," said Petkov, quoted by BNT.

For this purpose, they will send a declaration to the other parties, calling for a "sanitary cordon around Peevski and a "New beginning" and to undertake commitments that no one will enter into a coalition with them.

"We call on all parties to make it clear that they will not work with a "New Start" in no form - neither to elect their chairmen of committees, nor the chairman of the National Assembly, nor to enter into any majorities with them".

The declaration will also include other points - one of them concerns the election of the chief prosecutor. According to Kiril Petkov, there is a strategy to promote Borislav Sarafov, who is also the only candidate for the position so far.

"The SJC has an expired mandate, we know that this procedure was triggered in recent days and it is a one horse race. There is no way we can admit for 7 years a person who is close to Five Euros, whom they call the "eighth dwarf".

The last point will include legislative initiatives to ensure that Peevski will not have influence in the state.

"Whoever does not sign this declaration, we will treat him as dependent on Peevski, as part of the "New Beginning" machine, Kiril Petkov said.

Sanitary control around Peevski is not an end in itself - comments Bozhidar Bojanov.

"At the root of the political crisis are illegitimate influences and vote buying. It involves a whole chain of institutions that act in sync and put up umbrellas, he explained. In addition to the SJC law, we plan to propose changes to other laws to limit Mr. Peevski's influence - for example, the law on measures against money laundering."

PP-DB will insist on a temporary commission in the next parliament to investigate election manipulations.

We do not want the fate of Bulgaria to follow the fate of "Lafka", KTB and "Bulgartabak", Nikolay Denkov said for his part.

"We will do everything possible to put Peevski in his place, because everyone's future depends on it.
