The cabinet approved BGN 1,388,864 for compensation to families whose children have not been admitted to state or municipal kindergartens due to a lack of available places. The funds are provided for 1282 children from the Municipality of Sofia and for 3 from the Municipality of Plovdiv.
Compensations are paid for the period July 1 - September 14 and will be transferred to the budgets of the respective municipalities.
This measure compensates families of children from the age of 3 until they enter first grade who are not admitted to a state or municipal kindergarten or school due to a lack of places.
