The research was carried out between October 16 and 22 of this year. through a direct semi-standardized interview "face to face" among 1002 people aged 18+. The study is representative of the adult population of the country.
Bulgaria was undeservedly not accepted as a full member of Schengen, according to 53% of the respondents. According to 29%, our country was deservedly not accepted as a full member, and 18% answered that they could not judge.
To the question "In your personal opinion, the fact that Bulgaria was not accepted as a full member of Schengen, in what way does it affect the economic development of the country" 4% answered "positively", 53% - "negatively", and according to 26% it has no impact. A total of 17% cannot judge.
When asked how our non-acceptance as a full Schengen member affected their trust in the EU, 4% of respondents answered with "Increased my trust in the EU", 51% - "My trust in the EU remained unchanged" , 36% - "Lowered my confidence in the EU". "I can't judge" indicated 9% of those who participated in the survey.
According to 37% of the respondents, life in Bulgaria has improved since the country became a member of the EU, 23% believe that it has remained unchanged, 32% answered that it has worsened. A total of 8% cannot judge.
When asked how they assess the current state of the European economy, 5% responded with "Very good", 37% - "Rather good", 31% - "Rather bad", 9% - " Very bad" and 18% don't know.
Bulgaria's membership in the EU has increased foreign investment in the country, according to 38% of respondents, and according to 29%, it has had no impact. EU membership has reduced foreign investment, is the opinion of 12%, and 21% cannot judge.
