Constitution of the parliament is a primary task in any parliamentary republic. Parliament has to be up and running so that all subsequent procedures can take place, including the most immediate ones – delivery of a mandate to form a government, voting of laws, the most important of which is the 2025 budget. Sociologist Boryana Dimitrova commented on this in the program "Morning of Focus". on Radio "Focus" with host Asya Alexandrova.
According to her, we are currently in a paradoxical situation with the election of the Speaker of the National Assembly, in which without these parties, with which none of the political forces publicly wants to interact, it cannot be achieved support for choice. "The Bulgarian parliament is in an extremely complicated situation because of the inadmissibility, because of the mutual exclusion of parties with which the other political partners would not want to interact. It will be very not just interesting, it will also be significant to see how this situation will develop.“
In the last 5 years, Bulgaria has only had regular governments twice, and that with a life span of no longer than a few months, the sociologist also pointed out, which, according to her, is not good above all for the Bulgarian citizens , for the work of the institutions, for the horizon, as opportunities for the development of the state. "The door to new elections is wide open, and the door to reaching an agreement on governance in the current parliament is half-open,” she said, adding that it was important for her to see signs that a governing majority could still be agreed upon.
The problem with the violations in these elections turns out to be a very significant political and civil issue, because the Bulgarians do not have the feeling that their vote participated in the election of exactly these 240 deputies, which, according to Boryana Dimitrova, casts doubt on democracy as a system based of rules. The mutual deadlock in the election of the president shows the impossibility of the political parties finding a way out of the crisis with the current arrangement of forces. The more subjects enter the parliament, including because of the people's protest vote, that the leading political forces are unable to produce a government, the more complicated the task of the parliamentarians becomes. "And it seems that new elections are once again on the horizon.“
The situation with the split of the DPS, according to the sociologist, is an occasion to discover the behind-the-scenes games that were waiting for the right moment – then when a certain political scenario is triggered, to be triggered. According to her, however, with their disclosure with the active participation of Peevski, the question arises whether DPS played the role of a political stabilizer or we have infiltration, deployment of people who do not fulfill their duties and responsibilities according to the law, and they implement them according to political expediency. "The coming to light of these dependencies creates an additional obstacle, but at the same time I would say a useful obstacle, because all these dependencies should be on light, it is good for citizens to know them and the politicians themselves are starting to take them into account.“
