Georgiev: We are all hurting right now, but people want a country that works, not politicians who blame themselves - 1

Is it a fact that we are the first political force once again? It's a fact. Is it a fact that we during the assembly gave way to the second one who had over 95% of all the ministries and all the power in the state to stop the free fall of the state? It's a fact. Is it a fact that tradition dictates that the first and foremost in any collective body, such as Parliament, should have a Speaker? It's a fact. What happens though – colleagues from PP and DB want us to go to elections and are currently looking for someone to blame. This was stated by Georgi Georgiev from GERB in the program “Face to Face” on bTV, quoted by novini.bg

„It is really a time when Bulgaria needs statesmen, not politicians who behave like complainers. That is why Mr. Borisov has more than once set the framework in which talks will be held for government. They came up with different versions. First was the equidistant prime minister. I still don't know who he is and the Bulgarian people – too. There is no way to reach an agreement, because people are not going to vote for some masked politician. We said that the test of how things will work in the National Assembly and whether there will be a government is the election of the chairman, the necessary compromises. Mr. Donchev even mentioned self-destructive compromises, but to the extent that we give the people what they need. We are all hurting right now, but people want a country that works, and not politicians who blame themselves, but PP-DB do not want that. They are currently looking for someone to blame for the election. I don't understand what they want. They say that legislation is important to them, we don't have major disputes regarding anti-corruption legislation. We are ready for negotiations, and they say: “We give up”. What does that look like?”, he explained.
„The lack of dialogue is due to the stubbornness, the infantile behavior of the PP-DB, this destroys the statehood. There are no other majorities, in the formation of which we do not deviate from the fundamental values for which over 630,000 Bulgarian citizens voted. If it could be done without them, it would be best, but the people have decreed that we have 69 people's representatives, which means that it is most logical for the first two political forces to sit down with clear priorities and work. We don't have to like each other. The more they look for an excuse to go to the elections, the coefficient of useful action falls, Georgiev stressed.
„How can we explain that the first force that has the most deputies will not have a speaker of the parliament? In the SOS a year ago, thanks to Mr. Borisov, Sofia was saved from early elections. Despite everything, we took a step back. Why should we now take a step back for a candidate who led the National Assembly in extremely difficult months? I hope the other parties support the former, because these are the rules of representative democracy. The only party in which there is a clear leadership is GERB and Mr. Borisov, it would be understandable if he leads the leadership meetings, he explained.

„We need majorities. Mr. Borisov, in fulfillment of successive demands in order to have peace, yesterday showed a document signed by him, in which he says with which parties we will not seek a majority. And this smoke thundered on PP-DB. We have clear Euro-Atlantic values. As much as we don't like each other on certain issues, we have voted together many times. "We don't have any problems with leadership," Georgi Georgiev also stated.

„We have clearly said that with “Revival” we can't work. We will not make deals with the devil in the name of governance. It is important to get together, tell each other our grievances and move forward together”, he urged.
