Former Speaker of the 42nd National Assembly Mikhail Mikov expressed a firm position regarding the place of the Bulgarian Socialist Party in political life of the country. In an interview with BNT, he commented on the post-election situation and the future of the left.
"Looking after the election, the BSP are listening. They do not state a clear position. They listen if someone invites them to participate," said Mikov, who before Kornelia Ninova held the leadership position in the party.
He described such behavior as wrong policy.
Mikov also touched on the topic of blurring the boundaries between left and right.
In his words, the modern political discussion has shifted from programmatic differences to personal relations between politicians.
"Instead of the parties talking about what matches and what is different from their programs, they talk about who likes whom, who invites whom, who can and cannot work with whom personally,' Mikov commented.
He expressed concern about the inability of the people's representatives to elect a speaker of the parliament, describing the situation as "very sad".
According to Mikov, the deputies do not realize their responsibility to the citizens they represent under the Constitution.
