Krasimir Krasimirov in front of FACTS: We can see the fear that the president arouses in Delyan Peevski and Boyko Boriso - 1

What are the chances that the political crisis will be resolved or rather it will be deepened? The National Assembly is stuck in one place, but are the people's representatives able to change that? The election for the Speaker of the Parliament continues today… What to expect… Krasimir Krasimirov, MP from the “Alliance for Rights and Freedoms” spoke to FACTS.

- Mr. Krassimirov, deals for posts, I don't want this one, I can't with those, I don't like the third... All this is happening in “a broken country”. That's what we heard. Is this how the National Assembly is already constituted?
- Of course not. And you know what, I was in my constituency and the impression that people get is that the National Assembly has almost turned into a market. There is no way that everyone wants something and at the same time no one takes a step back or even to the side, but for the sake of this the state should go. In this situation, it will be very difficult to constitute a National Assembly.

- What, in fact, is needed for the parliament to work? Do you see any glimmer of hope for understanding?
- Dialogue is needed. We see that the dialogue is absent. There is always hope, right now too. The point is that we have to sit at the same table and talk. Unfortunately, however, we see that some of the colleagues in the plenary hall talk about dialogue and talks, but outside it, their actions show something completely different.

- PP-DB want a cordon around DPS-New beginning. “Alliance for Rights and Freedoms” where is it in the whole picture... Until recently you were one. Now some are unacceptable for all, we hear this from Borisov, and you?
- From the very beginning, we supported the creation of a cordon around the New Beginning, and our position is clear, categorical, and at the moment. As for the fact that only Borisov and we are unacceptable, this is simply another proof that Borisov and Peevski are two sides of the same coin.

- Borisov – Prime Minister, Speaker of the National Assembly – Atanas Atanasov. How does the APS view this?
- Well, we already understood that Borisov no longer wants to be a candidate for prime minister and he was not interested in a “broken state”. APS follows one direction from the very beginning, and that is that we do not support GERB's proposals for the Speaker of the National Assembly. At the same time, Borisov himself and the GERB party stated that they do not want and will not seek support from some political forces, including the APS. Apparently, they will seek hidden support from Delyan Peevski and New Beginning. As for General Atanasov's name, we haven't seen anything official yet. Let's see it and then we would comment.

- From APS, you want the conversations between GERB-SDS and PP-DB to be public. This has never been done in our country when negotiating power. Why do you want it now?
- So that people don't have any doubts about any hidden contracts for positions, posts, etc. It is high time that things happen transparently and clearly. Therefore, we think that it is most normal for these negotiations to be conducted openly - after all, it is about the future development of the country. As our chairman said - it is good to see what priorities and programs will be proposed.

- APS declare that you will support Silvi Kirilov for Speaker of the National Assembly if there is a runoff. And that's because…
- This is because we follow clear and consistent principles. For us, both Silvi Kirilov and Mrs. Nataliya Kiselova are people who would cope with the position of Speaker of the Parliament. They have the necessary responsibility, the necessary potential and, at least at this moment, they seem not to be dependent on Delyan Peevski. And this is extremely important considering the role of the speaker of the parliament in any new elections.

- Are new elections in 2025 increasingly likely?
- Unfortunately, if the dialogue really does not come to the fore, we will go to elections again. The fears of almost all parliamentary parties - with the exception of GERB and New Beginnings - are that with this government and this prime minister, the results of such elections will not be in favor of democracy. For this, we - from the “Alliance for Rights and Freedoms”, wish to constitute a National Assembly in order to form a government and start work on the problems facing the country. People don't want elections. Fact. The problems are piling up with each passing day. Especially in front of the mayors of the municipalities where the state seems to have abdicated. We are witnessing an “election” pouring money into certain municipalities at the expense of others. We, from the APS, insist that all municipalities be approached equally, and not selectively. We also raised this question at the meeting we initiated with the Minister of Finance and the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works in the National Assembly last week. To solve these and many other problems, of course, a stable regular government is necessary.

- Borisov and Peevski are increasingly directing part of their public appearances against President Rumen Radev. How do you explain it?
- In a word - fear. In his person they see perhaps an obstacle on the way to complete control of the state. This fear is great and it was also seen during the paid protests here in the triangle of power. And for the very behavior and demeanor of Delyan Peevski and the cohort around him, it can be said that it was anything but the behavior of politicians. You can see the fear that the president arouses in Delyan Peevski and Boyko Borisov.
