Over 300 people gathered in Velingrad, in support of farmers whose herds have been quarantined due to positive plague tests. In order not to violate the measures to contain the disease, the area around the farms has been cordoned off, with no access to the protected area, the BNR reported.
Livestock breeders are also questioning repeated samples that confirm the presence of plague, as tests in a Greek licensed laboratory show that the animals are healthy.
In the Greek specialized laboratory, 84 samples were examined in which no plague was detected, claim the owners of the quarantined 1,700 sheep. Tonight, 6 new lambs were born on the farm of the Ilievi family.
There is an increased police presence at the scene, but the situation is calm.
