Head of State Rumen Radev will be visiting Warsaw today and tomorrow at the invitation of his Polish counterpart Andrzej Duda to participate in the 10th Summit of the “Three Seas“ Initiative, announced the press service of the president, quoted by BTA.
Today, the president will visit the National Library of Poland, which stores part of the original of the Suprasl (Retkov) Collection. In recognition of the institution's significant contribution to the preservation and popularization of the collection, which is the only preserved Old Bulgarian manuscript of the Preslav Literary School from the Golden Age of Bulgaria, included in the UNESCO “Memory of the World“ Register of World Written Heritage, as well as on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of its opening, the head of state will honor the library with a plaque “St. St. Cyril and Methodius“. The award will be accepted by its director Tomasz Makovski.

On Tuesday, Rumen Radev will participate in the 10th Summit of the “Three Seas“ initiative. The regional format for deepening cooperation and promoting connectivity in the energy, transport and digital spheres unites 13 EU countries: Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Austria, Croatia, Romania, Greece. Ukraine and Moldova are associated member states, and strategic partners of “Three Seas“ are Germany, the European Commission, the USA and Japan.
The high-level meeting will be accompanied by a business forum, during which various projects for the development of regional transport, energy and digital connectivity will be presented and discussed. Head of State Rumen Radev, whose delegation also includes representatives of Bulgarian institutions and Bulgarian business, will participate in the presidential panel of the forum, the press secretariat informs.
Last year's high-level meeting of the "Three Seas" initiative was held on April 11 in Vilnius, Lithuania, and in parallel with the forum, which takes place in the Palace of the Grand Dukes, the sixth business forum within the framework of the political project is also taking place, in which over 1,000 representatives of governments, companies and non-governmental organizations participate, the "Reference" department indicates. Upon his arrival at the Palace of the Grand Dukes, President Rumen Radev pointed out that Bulgaria has made the most of the "Three Seas" initiative, while at the same time emphasizing the Bulgarian contribution by giving the project primary importance to innovation and scientific research. He also stated that since the first summit of the "Three Seas" initiative, this format has managed to consolidate significant political support with a main goal: the social and economic development of the countries of Central and Eastern Europe by catching up on the lag in connectivity - energy, transport and digital.
