Borissov: I am most prepared to be prime minister, but I will never do anything that will harm the negotiations - 1

Negotiations with colleagues from the DB and BSP continue. Today at 11 we will also meet with the ITN. At this stage, I can say that we are working on a government. We will go through all the topics with the parties to finally say what the consensus will be. I am constantly involved. The negotiations are expert and have been going on for hours. This was stated to journalists on the sidelines of the parliament by GERB leader Boyko Borisov, quoted by novini.bg.

"I can only welcome Radan Kanev's appearance at the negotiations. This shows commitment to the huge problems of the state at the moment", added the GERB leader.

"I am most prepared to be prime minister, but I will never do anything that will harm the negotiations and prevent something from happening."

Budget 2025

"Last night I spoke with Lyudmila Petkova. I called on the acting Minister of Finance to come up with the real numbers for Budget 2025. There is a law that obliges her to introduce a budget with a 3% deficit. We either have to repeal the law that obliges the Ministry of Finance to have such a budget, or it has to send us a parallel report with the real financial situation of the state, because it is bad. And this bad has a name. I cannot support this budget in any part on behalf of GERB, that is why we want an analysis so that the facts can be seen", he added.

Ukraine

"I have always claimed that caretaker governments are there to hold elections and I have been against signing long-term contracts. We have seen what has been created by previous caretaker governments and every day 1 million leva goes to Turkey for "Botas".

"Such a decision for such an agreement, when we are in the process of forming a regular government, can be signed by the Council of Ministers, it can be signed by Glavchev, it does not need ratification by the parliament. And the most correct thing is that when there is a regular government, it should sign it. I have not heard from him and I cannot tell you why he requested this from the National Assembly. If it were 6 months ago during the assembly, we would have signed. Now the situation is different with the arrival of Trump and the intention to peacefully resolve the conflict."
