The search for 13-year-old Nikolay from the Gurkovo village of Konare continued for the sixth day. A Border Police helicopter also joined the operation today. He has scoured all the surrounding areas for over 4 hours, but without any positive results, the mayor of Gurkovo Kancho Papazov announced.
He told Radio Stara Zagora that the search activities will continue.
"All the resources that are at all possible are included in the operational-search operation, but despite everything there is no result, so it continues.
Whether there will be a change in the tactics of the operation will be decided by the services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, most likely they have assessed it and it is even more likely that this will not be widely available to all citizens.
I can certainly confirm that many different teams are working in our region," said Kancho Papazov.
13-year-old Nikolay has been missing since December 17, when he was last seen at his home in the village of Konare. The boy has Down syndrome. Hundreds of Interior Ministry officials, firefighters, and volunteers have joined the search, using dogs, drones, and thermal imaging cameras. Despite the efforts, no trace of the boy has been found to date.
